Account Settings

By Keiichi Morisato

I’m starting to integrate the rest of the site into the navigation menu here on our WordPress Blog. Please be aware that our site content, the CMS that runs it, will remain the same. We have no plans on changing that. While I recognize the need for everyone to know where the links are, everything will be seemlessly integrated, except for the login process. Please be aware that while we have registration for the homepage/Wordpress, the Site Content and the Forums, y0u only need an account for the Blog if you wish to post a comment or submit a news item.

Forum accounts are free but you do need an account if you wish to post a message or create new topics.

From the Admin

By Keiichi Morisato

Be forewarned. If you register for an account on the site or the forums and attempt to post spam on either, I will ban you for life. This also refers to creating usernames that are offensive and libelous toward the site and the forums. Oh, and we forward all such attempts to subvert this site to that user’s ISP.

Don’t Be Alarmed, Nothing Has Changed

By Keiichi Morisato

While I haven’t heard any feedback except from one member who didn’t like the idea of WordPress being used as the homepage of the site, I’d like to reassure everyone that WordPress isn’t being used to replace the CMS software suites we currently use for the site. I think there’s been some confusion on this issue and I’d like to clear that up. The site content and the CMS software that is running the content portion of our site won’t change. I just wanted to be able to use WordPress to cover more information that wouldn’t other be covered with the old layout.

While it’s true that I hadn’t considered this, WordPress allows me the ability to expand the site by offering reviews of anime shows that are currently being fansubbed (we’ll be reviewing these shows but not providing links to the downloads) as well as reporting on Anime Conventions and CosPlay events. The powerful software also grants me the opportunity to also cover a larger range of news that’s currently appearing among the anime and manga online community and I hope that everyone continues to support the site.

If you would like to contribute in any way, please either post a comment to this news item or contact me through the forums. We’ll provide those volunteers with access to post any information they care to post, as it pertains to our goals.

A New Record: 123,000 Posted Messages

By Keiichi Morisato

I’d like to thank everyone who has made our community so great. We’ve finally surpassed 123,000 posted messages on our message boards and it’s due to the support that our members have contributed to our wonderful community. While some topics do have a tendency to get heated at times, I’m glad that we have a vast support network as well as a solid grouip of members who keep things together.

While we rarely have to Moderate the forums (special thanks to our staff for keeping an eye on what’s being posted on the forums) we like to think of ourselves as fans and allow our community to post whatever they feel like posting without fear of being censored. This is due to a very limited set of rules that we have established for our community. I’d just like to take the opportunity and say “Thanks” to our members, our wonderful staff and the visitors and guests who continue to support the site and the community.
