Forum Rules (August 2010)
General Rules
Note: These rules are designed to keep our forums safe for every member and to ensure that our community respects the site, the forums and its members.
01. Respect the Forums, Staff and Members. Remember, you have to show respect in order to receive it.
02. If you're not sure whether you should post something or not, ask either an Admin or a Moderator. They are more than familiar with what's allowed to be posted on the forums.
03. Be kind to the other members of our community. If you cannot post something nice, then don't post it.
04. The Moderators are here to help you. Despite how Moderators act on other forums, our staff are not out to impose restrictions or ban members.
05. If someone "verbally" warns you to stop what you're doing, they are sparing you from receiving a warning strike or from receiving a forum restriction. Please listen to their suggestions.
06. Respect the forums. We're not a community who tolerates "commercial spam" or needlessly spamming every topic.
07. While there are no restrictions as to what can or cannot be posted on the forums, we do prohibit some. See "Banned Topics."
08. We do allow our members to swear on the forums provided that the more offensive and hardcore words (or terminology) are not used.
09. Before you create a topic, search the first few pages of the forum you are creating your topic in. If you don't see it within the first three pages, then feel free to start your new topic.
10. Please, don't post the same message in multiple topics. Be creative if you need to get your point across.
11. Don't argue, in any forum topic, with any Moderator. If there's an issue, please take it to PM where it can be discussed with that Moderator or an alternate Moderator.
Offensive Posts or Topics
Please, if someone creates a new topic, sends you a personal message (PM) or posts a forum message that offends you personally, whatever the reason, please click the "report" button so a Moderator can investigate. Not only will the offending message be removed but action may be taken against that member for violating the forum rules. We encourage our members to act in an appropriate manner, which is why we have established the rules listed here to govern our community.
Banned Content
Notice: While the rules listed in this section are meant as a preventive nature, they are being listed here to prevent any future violations of our "code of conduct" rules for the forums. Our members are really quite friendly.
No Spamming: This has become a problem in the past so we have elected to create a policy for it. If you have something you want to share with the community, we ask that our members don't spam the topics, status updates or member profiles with the information. We're not banning anyone from sharing news, polls or links but spamming every corner of the forums is not allowed and you may find yourself banned from the community. This isn't to restrict anyone from posting, but we need to ensure that our members aren't abusing the forums. Create a topic for what you want to share and leave it as a discussion topic.
No Flaming: Please, stay away from posting any messages that are deliberately hostile to another member. If you engage in "flaming" or incite other members to "flame" each other, you will be banned from the community. This behavior is not tolerated among our members and is considered disruptive behavior on our forums.
No Racial Commentary: This is one rule that will be strictly enforced. If any member is caught posting any commentary that's derogatory in nature against any "race, religion or culture," be aware that you will be automatically banned from the communty. We have members, who are anime and manga fans, from all over the world. What you might not think is offensive could be interpreted as such. Please put some thought into what you are posting so it doesn't come off as offensive to another culture. This includes, but is not limited to, racial slang, racial slurs, ethnic commentary or any other type of commentary used in a derogatory manner. If you're not sure if you should post it, ask a Moderator or one of our Admin.
No Harassment or Intimidation: While we haven't had a problem with members harassing other members or intimidating each other, we do recognize that it could happen. Be that as it may, anyone caught using their forum account to engage in this sort of behavior will be banned from the community.
No Personal Insults: This has been a problem in the past few years when members will get heated over a discussion topic. Please, if you find yourself involved in a discussion topic that is getting out of control and you don't know how to handle it, step away from the topic and alert an Admin or a Moderator. Let them handle the members who have sidelined the topic. When you inject yourself into the argument, you're just going to become a new target for those members.
No Trolls: Help keep the forums clear of Trolls. Trolls are simply new members who have registered an account for the only purpose of antagonizing the rest of the community and deliberately breaking the forum rules. If you happen to suspect someone of being a troll, report them immediately.
No Adult Content: It doesn't matter whether it's adult entertainment, pornography or hentai. Do not post any type of adult-related content on the site or the forums. While we do allow our members to discuss these topics, we do not allow our members to post graphic images, website links, ascii art, hentai or anything that is related to the adult entertainment industry. Discussion topics are allowed, as long as it's "safe for work" friendly and appropriate for all ages.
Banned Topics
Because of the heated nature surrounding "Politics" and "Religion," be aware that we don't allow these topics to be discussed on our forums. There was a very heated debate when we allowed these topics before and the discussion topics got a little out of control. Because of that, we have placed a moratorium on these topics.
