Who would you dress up as?

79 posts in this topic

Suppose there was gonna be a huge international AMG Con. If you didn't go you wouldn't be considered not a big fan. If you din't dress up you wouldnt be considered a true fan. If you wore a stupid costume you would be a loser throughout the whole Con. Now bearing in mine your physical features who wouyld you dress like. Remember: you must look similar to the character the same way Kurthy can pass as Bell.

The only main male character of my size and build would be Aoshima (Ootaki and Tamiya are behemoths, and K1's a little guy). But if I wanted to impersonate him, I'd have to get fitted for an ugly green suit...and a toupee, as I'm light on feathers. But I ain't a-gonna do that, so to the Con I go as Me.

I would Cosplay as one of these Characters

1. Keiichi (Jeans, White T-shirt)

2. Keiichi (White T-shirt, Coveralls)

3. Keiichi (Lord of Terror Clothes)

4. Lord of Terror (Keiichi Possession)

5. Celestine (Robes)

6. Celestine (Battle Outfit)

7. Celestine (Keiichi Possession)

8. Welsper (Racing Outfit, Dragon Flame Death Wave/Dragon Flame Death Heart)

9. Welsper (Adult form)

10. Kami-Sama

Tales of Yggdrasil

11. Cea - Purple Twin (Battle Outfit)

12. Cea - Purple Twin (Earth Clothes)

13. Uel - Blue Twin (Battle Outfit)

14. Uel - Blue Twin (Earth Clothes)

Which Should I chose I wonder?

I am a master Cosplayer!

My first Cosplay ever was as Takayuki Kashino

the Father of Rei Kashino and President of Oak Group

From the Shoujo Manga Mars. it was perfect

Glasses. Blond Slicked back hair. Black Suit. I was a Spitting image.

My second Cosplay I Did at a Convention. it was was a complete Inu-Yasha Costume

it was made from Scratch. every part of it. I had the Necklace the Kimono,

Hakamas, Undershirt, long white hair with Dog Ears.

Shikon Jewel Whole/Partial/Shards. I even had Claws.

the Sword even had two forms. Sheathed and Fully Transformed.

I had His attacks in both Japanese and English

My Third and Forth Cosplay was at the convention a year later

This time I wore two Costumes at the same time.

it only took me 30 Seconds to change between photos

The Third cosplay was of Light Yagami from DeathNote

I Made the DeathNote myself, also had a scythe

and I wore a red tie.

The Forth Was Tamaki Suou From Ouran High School Host Club

For him I wore A black and Purple striped tie and a Blue Jacket

with the anime Version of the School Crest. I also had memorized

most of his Flirtatious Comments and

actually used them on many of the girls at the Convention.

They Loved it. even made one Guy Completely Jealous.

Itsuru~ That doesn't sound very fair. A person doesn't need to cosplay to show that they are a true fan. People show their love of AMG through such a variety of things~ writing, art, song, and many other mediums! It also seems a bit hurtful that you consider some people's costumes stupid. Some people work very hard on their costumes and wear them with pride at cons. I think it is quite an accomplishment for anyone to put together an entire costume.

Also, it isn't fair to think that if someone doesn't have the "right physical features" that they can't cosplay their favorite character. What matters is the love and spirit that they have for the character. Some of my favorite cosplayers are the people that may not have the best costume, but put all of their love into what they made because of their devotion to their character. It is all about having fun when it comes down to it.

Besides, I always feel bad for guys who like AMG, there aren't that many to choose from! ;__;

I find that While a lot of people dress up for Conventions

Not many of them put effort into the Costume

I have seen that most people wear 2nd rate Costumes

And only a few Actually Put together 1st rate Costumes

But there are also those who are not good at cosplaying

and wear 3rd rate costumes these peoples costumes

just don't look good

The Professional Cosplayers only wear 1st rate costumes

we either

1. put lots of time and planning into the costume or

2. choose a character we look like.

or sometimes we do both.

This Means we can pull off a Cosplay that will Win us Awards.

it also Helps if you choose your character from the one or two Shows

that are going to be the most popular around the convention.

If you are Going for awards It doesn't always work to pick your favorite Character.

Face Doesn't always matter all that much when cosplaying

Since most Anime Faces are Best translated into an Asian/Japanese Faces

since they are ment to represent Japanese people anyways.

Though Anime is starting to add more of the Americian looking faces as well

there are Four things that are a must for Choosing a character to cosplay

1. Body Type: Choose a character with the same or similar Body type as you.

or at least Someone with the same hair color as you.

it is very easy to tell if someone has died their hair. it doesn't match their skin tone.

2. Clothes: Though out an anime or manga a single character can go through many styles of clothes

if you are going for the General look of the Character pick one of the Characters Styles

that will be Easily Recognizable (something he wears often)

Or

If the Character has the likelihood of being a Popular Cosplay

Choose one of his other styles That Draws attention to your Costume

and away from the Generic Copies.

3. Props: When Choosing a Character make sure that if he uses

a prop often that you will be able to actually Create that Prop.

This adds an Extra to the Cosplay especially if it is a large Prop that will get Noticed

Make sure to add lots of detail to Props as they get noticed first from a distance.

4. Personality: To pull off an award winning cosplay you must be able

to not simply copy the character's Main pose or his main line.

You must actually Doppelganger His entire personality.

The way he Speaks, the way he Moves, the way he Acts.

His Quirks, his way of Thinking, Etc.

You must literally become the Character.

This though requires either reading the entire manga

and/or watching the entire anime in the Shortest possible time

at least once maybe twice.

You have to absorb the Character's personality into you.

These four steps will make you a master Cosplayer.

as I read Manga and as I watch Anime I actually look for Characters

That I might Cosplay in the Future. Both Good Guys and Villains.

I don't know who I'd cosplay. I'd probably shoot for Celestin from the AMG movie simply because I like his outfit. That and I have long hair.. so it wouldnt be that difficult I suppose. Ahaha OR maybe Troubadeor from the anime series?

Itsuru I rly like your questions if only for the creativity involved in them. I was kinda running low on topic ideas and thought everything had been discussed atleast twice then BAM, you and these what-ifs!XDD

I think the question is like, who'd you cosplay as if you could instantly look like ANY of the characters for the cosplay.

I'm eventually gonna do a k1 with the motorcycle gear, but for this question...Banpei. I would love ot do Banpei, because he's a cute mascot character and everyone loves those and they get MEGAhugs @ cons, but since Banpei's body is all wires, knobs, and pipes, it's hard for a human to recreate it as a suit and be able to fit into it.

Troubador is soo funny. He's wacky and just goofy. The character design is definitely very fluid.

But I've always been a fan of clothing styles that go along the "flowing robes" style. It always seems so graceful. Doesn't matter if it's male or female... robes seem to add a sort of grace to the character. Celestin always seems so.. precise with his movements. I like that in his character.

I think I'll start looking into that for Kawaii-kon if I'm still out here in Hawaii next April. I'm thinking about moving to WA state.
