Just letting everyone know that the forums are back up and running and we're currently waiting for our forum software to get an upgrade. If you haven't participate in the forums in quite some time, stop on by, post a message or two or say hi to some new friends. Remember, we're all friendly on the forums and we're also inviting new members to register, as well.

Because of some hiccups regarding some members, we're now requiring all new members (as well as current members), to read through the new forum rules. While there isn't anything new to be concerned with, we've included some detailed points that we think the community should be aware of. This will help prevent confusion as to what the rules are. When you get the opportunity, please take the time and read through them and post if you did, in the new Forum Rules: Updated topic in the Announcements forum.

New Auction Site for Members & Visitors

While it has taken quite some time to figure out how to install our new auction house software, I'd like to bring everyone's attention to it. The new auction software works similar to eBay's current system and while we won't require or force any seller to use a specific payment option, we would recommend using a payment choice that you're comfortable with. The auction software has a feedback system, which I hope everyone will take advantage of and it should be fairly easy to use.

I'm also working on the various rules, FAQ's and whatnot for the auction site so be on the lookout for that. Please be aware that in order to sell something on the site, we do require payment up for all auctions. The only fee that we have for posting an auction is one dollar ($1) and we won't be charging additional seller's fees, even after you've sold your item. Please look forward to seeing the rules and FAQ's in the coming days.

I have decided to disable comments on the site itself because too many posters from the Russia Federation are spamming our articles/content with actual spam. It's not too much to ask that comments be posted in English, as much as possible. However, when comments are posted by fictitious usernames and includes website links to commercial sites, I have to weigh the concerns of our visitors and our community and the fact that we don't allow "free advertising" on our website for any business.

If you're a visitor to our site and you want to advertise here, contact us and we can provide reasonable rates. They're not as expensive as you hope. However, if you wish to comment on our articles, you'll need to post comments on our forums.

Ah! My Goddess Season 2: Out of Print? Lost License?

Apparently, since the news came out that AnimEigo lost its license to the Oh My Goddess OVA series and now that it's officially no longer available for purchase, word has also filtered out that Funimation has pulled the Ah! My Goddess Season 2 Boxed Sets from production, as well. Right Stuf has pulled the boxed set from its website, Best Buy has the set listed as backordered, meaning that they probably won't be receiving any more boxed sets. My guess is that other retailers are out of stock or have pulled it from their websites, as well.

I'm reluctant to speculate what's happening with this particular series/season but, from what one of our members has posted on the forums, that Funimation may be preparing a new release for the set. The problem with this is that Funimation has developed a notorious reputation for not informing anyone of their plans. Over the past few weeks, I've fired off several emails through their website contacts and they have a very bad reputation for either not replying to their emails or not releasing any information on their releases.

It's also possible that they may have lost the license to the second season since they acquired the license by way of Sojitz simply handing the title over to them. Currently, the only Ah! My Goddess anime that is still licensed for sale in the United States is the first season of the series that's currently produced and released by Media Blasters.

Special thanks to Yehl for posting this information on the forums regarding the "out of print" status on Ah! My Goddess Season 2.

Update: The reason why we are banning, deleting and removing comments posted in Russian is that the majority of them are spam.

Please note that if you post a comment to an article and if it is not in English, it will be automatically deleted. The reasons why are that 99% of our visitors, members and guests are English speaking. I've noticed that the comments that have been getting posted are in Russian and that they post links to Russian websites. While we have members from all over the world, it's a common thing that all of our members understand and realize that the majority of our members can only understand English, despite the fact that we have a forum that allows our members to post in their own native language.

Please, respect our site, the forums and our members by posting or commenting in English. Don't be afraid if your English isn't perfect, as long as it's understandable.

While no details are currently known (as I'm trying to get an answer for this) be sure to purchase the collector's edition when you can. I'll be updating the purchase link on the site soon enough.

On February 28th, 2010, AnimEigo loses the license to the series.
